Le but ?

NEUROMARKETING: Have the nerve to influence your customer, the latter won’t be mad at you.

As part of my Masters in Commerce and Marketing, I have chosen to know more about a particular subject that remains unknown until date: Neuromarketing.

The objective: Learn more about the techniques used by companies in order to captivate our attention by reading our thoughts.

There’s nothing new about this technique which is being used for about 10 years, it measures and analyses thanks to the neuroscience reactions of our human brain, that stimulates by several variables like for instance, publicity.

How does this technique work?
Neuromarketing targets 3 functions of our brain, precisely: The memory, the attention and the emotions. Each of them have functions that are represented by a particular zone of our brain.

The activation of these zones is studied through MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Electroencephalogram and eye tracking (Via the use of a pair of glasses that allows any individual of the customer and to analyse the criteria that is more attractive to the eye)

How do brands probe our brain?
In 2004, an American institute has done a survey upon the influences that different brands have, based on the preferences of customers (available in an excerpt from France 2 News in the link below)
This study confirms the fortitude of lobbying that guides customers during their daily purchases.
